Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is the optimal way of feeding your child. Breast milk is designed entirely for your child’s needs and provides optimal protection due to the antibodies it contains. A long-term benefit of breastfeeding is that your children have fewer chances of developing diabetes or being overweight.

If you are expecting your first child, we recommend that you follow a  breastfeeding course. Also check the MyMedela app for expert tips and advice. A number of organisations in the Netherlands provide information, help and advice on breastfeeding, usually free of charge, such as the Borstvoeding Natuurlijk association and the La Leche League breastfeeding organisation. The borstvoeding.com website also provides a lot of information about breastfeeding.

Our practice has a certified breastfeeding policy and meets WHO standards for care.

Breast milk is the healthiest, most live food that you can give a child.
