Courses and other tips

In addition to the educational sessions, we also recommend that you follow a pregnancy course. There are all sorts of courses; you are sure to find one that suits you. Research has shown that staying active during the pregnancy has a beneficial effect on the delivery. It moreover reduces the probability of high blood pressure at the end of your pregnancy. On this page you will also find a few useful apps about e.g. dietary recommendations during pregnancy.

  • Bevalwijzer: antenatal class(es) for women who want to know everything about childbirth in the Netherlands by former midwife Kirsty Schellekens.
  • Childbirth courses by Accesscourses to help you prepare for labour and delivery in the Netherlands.
  • Childbirth Class Gale:  group sessions or individual courses given by Dutch midwife Truus Gale.
  • Pregnancy course on demand: online course available in English, Polish and Dutch. 
  • When experiencing stress/fear for the birth and or parenthood: Mind in geboorte. Nine mindfullness sessions in the Hague. Also possible when English speaking (is written on their website)
